Nuts And Bolts

The Range

Testing different types of lights on the targets.

The Jackson Biathlon Range currently has four shooting points, each with a regulation mechanical metal target and a place for paper targets. All of the targets have bullet containment features to control the spread of lead on the range. Each shooting point has a regulation biathlon mat, lane numbers, and a reset rope for the metal targets.

We are in the process of adding lights to both the target area and the shooting points. We had a temporary system in place for the winter of 2013-2014, and hope to have a new, more efficient and more reliable system in place for winter 2015-2016.

We also have a Range House for storage of mats and range supplies. There is a heated section thanks to a propane heater donated by Smithfield Plumbing and Heating of North Conway. The Range House also has a monitor for video analysis and review.
